Clearing Browser Cache, Local Storage and Performing Hard Reload

This article provides step-by-step instructions on how to clear the browser cache in Google Chrome on both Mac and Windows operating systems. - Part 1 outlines clearing browser cache, Part 2 shows how to clear local storage and doing a hard reload. 


Part 1: Clearing browser cache


1.) Launch Google Chrome.

2.) In the top right corner, click the 3 dots. Scroll down and click "Delete browsing data..." from the dropdown menu.


3.) The Delete browsing data pop-up will appear, go to the Advanced tab and select the following:

  • Cookies and other site data
  • Cached images and files


6.) Click the "Delete Data" button to remove the browser cache, browser history, cookies and other site data.


7.) Wait for the process to complete. Once done, type Chrome://restart in your URL to restart Google Chrome.
