Messaging Patients on the Mobile App

Providers now have the the option to download their own newly built clinic app, log in with their provider credentials and use this for messaging their patients, should this be easier than using the web.

Our HIPAA-compliant messaging system allows providers to connect with their patients for the entire course of their recovery.

Step-by-step guide:

1. Search for your custom clinic app in the Play Store (for Android users) or in the App Store (for iOS users) and download.

2. Open the app and log in with your provider credentials.

3. Once you’ve logged in, you’ll be directed to the “Messages” tab - this is your “Home Page.”

4. You can either search for a patient using the search bar at the top of the page, or by selecting the patient from the list below to start a conversation.

Additionally, you could also select the “+” sign next to the search bar to continue an ongoing conversation.

5. Start typing a message to your patient in the white “Type here…” box and click the blue “Send” button to message your patients directly in real time.

6. The patient will be notified of the message via email or via push notifications if enabled on their iOS device, and upon logging in to the app will see the full message you’ve sent.

7. As a provider, you can enable push notifications. Go to More tab and click Settings.

8. Tap the toggle button just beside "Push Notifications". pop-up will appear, prompting you to allow or not allow these notifications. Select “Allow” if you’d like to be notified when you receive messages from patients.

Note:

  • Messages are disabled by default for non-RTM patients.
  • The two-way HIPAA-compliant messaging system can be enabled or disabled at any time, as a general setting for your group or for an individual patient
  • You need not worry about missing unread messages. You will receive an email to notify you, in addition to receiving a push notification if this has been enabled.
