Handling Shared Phone Numbers and Shared Email address in Prompt EMR → Engage Integration


To ensure accurate data sync in Engage, the contact number for a second patient sharing a phone number (e.g., husband and wife, parent and child) should be entered into the 'Home Phone' field.


Scenario: A Mother and Daughter is sharing the same phone number and the same email address.

Step 1: Add the Mother (First Patient)

  • Enter the phone number in  'Mobile Phone' field.
  • Add the email address.

Step 2: Add the Daughter (Second Patient)

  • Enter the same phone number in 'Home Phone' field
  • Leave the 'Mobile Phone' empty
  • Add the email using an alias
    • Example: Using email alias will cater pedia and non-techy geria patients, sample below:
      • emma.stone@gmail.com    
      • emma.stone+child@gmail.com    

Engage system only accepts unique email, that is why "+alias" is required.

Sample workflow:

Adding first patient - mother

Adding second patient - Daughter


Notes:

  • ⚠️Do NOT use only the Home Phone field without an email.

    This will cause a sync error:

    “There was an error sending the patient's information to Prompt Engage. Try again or contact Prompt support.”
